Mosope Fagbongbe Ph.D., joined Bekkering York Barristers (BYB) LLP at its inception. She qualified as a lawyer in Alberta in 2016 and British Columbia in 2017. Prior to joining BYB LLP, Mosope’s practise areas included Civil Law, Family Law and various administrative tribunals. Her current areas of practice are Insurance Defence, Employment, Immigration and Family Law.
As an internationally trained lawyer, Mosope completed a split articles at a national law firm, and the law department of a major oil and gas company in Calgary, Alberta. She has a doctorate degree in Law from the University of British Columbia, Masters from University of Manitoba and University of Lagos, and her undergraduate degree from University of Lagos. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1997. Prior to qualifying as a lawyer in Canada, Mosope worked in various capacities as litigator, research fellow, and lecturer. She also had a brief stint a sessional lecturer at University of British Columbia.
Mosope provides a client-focused service with a high level of legal expertise and professionalism to her clients. Over the years, Mosope has consistently made strong contributions to her community in a variety of different ways. She was appointed as member of the (Fraser, Interior, Provincial Health Services, Vancouver Coastal and Vancouver Island) Patient Care Quality Review Boards (PCQRB) on October 23, 2023 and is currently member of the UBC Alumni Advisory Council.
